Histological mesothelioma.
The diagnosis is histological / radiological (using CT ). Mesothelioma is also good for calretinina, a calcium-binding protein, vitamin D-dependent, related to the calcium-dependent cellular signal transduction and electron microscopy shows large and abundant microvilli (as opposed to cancers that have few and small). The PET is not recommended when performing the normal process stadiativo because they are less sensitive than CT (except in patients with potentially resectable cancer that must be paired with), but appears to be useful in follow-up of patients as positive lesions seems to be related to the effectiveness of treatments performed.
